Art Institute: Week 3 Day 1 Soups

Good morning!! it's really early right now!! Its 6 am and I am heading towards the school already!! Today, I need to finish my action plan.. I'm so thankful to have Marisela lending a hand by explaining to me how to do the cost cards :) We started working together at 8 am but I still got to school at 6 am because I don't have a ride.. Though our class doesn't start until 12:30 pm!! I learned a very important lesson this morning!!! Yesterday, I told you that I will take out the carrots and mushroom out of the freezer so I could Practice!!! Here I am setting up the cutting board and the knives and peeler that I will be using :) I am wearing a pink leopard apron made by my nanay ( grandma in tagalog ) shown below! Yes, this is one of my favorite past time.. Just posing.. showing my outfit of the day.. in this case apron of the day haha.. Hope you enjoy it :)

Enough with fashion! Let's practice some knife cuts!!

Well... the carrots and mushroom turned very soggy so I am not able to tourner the carrot and flute mushroom!! :( Next time, I will make sure to do the knife cuts first before I freeze it!!

Cul 1108 Class- Chef Kloeble- 12:30pm-5:30pm
Chef Cochran was absent today!! :( But a great opportunity came along because Chef Kloeble subbed our class! It's a different teaching style :) Today, we fabricated a whole chicken and we also made chicken consomme.. Chef Kloeble is not a picture type of chef.. Chef Cochran on the other hand takes plenty of pictures!!!! Today, Marisela was the photographer :) She brought her camera but she hasn't uploaded it yet... Revisit this post so you can see the pictures that we took!! I will upload the pictures by tomorrow!! :) I am having so much fun here at Art Institute.. I am learning everyday and that's what matters :) What did you learn today ( Feel FREE to comment below)
